The 2024 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid is a safe, efficient, and family-friendly minivan with an upscale interior and a 32-mile all-electric range. Pricing starts at $52,495.
Chrysler invented the minivan back in the 1980s, and it still makes one of America’s best-sellers in this class. Spacious, safe, and family-friendly, the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid has almost everything you can want in a family car. The plug-in hybrid powertrain enhances this minivan’s practicality with a 32-mile all-electric range, and it’s still great on gas when the hybrid battery runs out. Every Pacifica Hybrid is well-equipped, but it’s a bona fide luxury vehicle in the loaded Pinnacle trim.
The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid is in a competitive class of minivans along with the Honda
HMC,
Odyssey, Kia
000270,
Carnival, and hybrid-powered Toyota Sienna. There’s also a more affordable, non-hybrid version of the Pacifica, which we review separately.

TM,
Sienna is a conventional hybrid that starts at about $37K, and its top Platinum trim is priced similarly to the Pacifica Hybrid Select.

What’s new for 2024?
The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid gets a few minor updates for 2024. The trim structure has been modified to a new Select model and luxurious Pinnacle trim. The new Select trim is similar to the outgoing Touring L trim.
The Emergency Vehicle Alert System is a new safety feature that alerts the driver if any emergency vehicles are nearby. Red Hot and Baltic Gray are two new paint options, and there’s a new Sepia interior option for the Pinnacle trim.

Power, ride and handling
The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid features a 260-horsepower hybrid powertrain matching a V6 engine with a pair of electric motors. A CVT automatic transmission sends power to the front wheels. Unlike the non-hybrid Pacifica, all-wheel drive is not an option with the hybrid.
The Pacifica Hybrid has the advantage of instant electric torque from a standstill. Its performance isn’t as punchy as its non-hybrid counterpart because of the extra weight and lower horsepower rating, but it’s still adequate for family hauling duties. The trade-off with the hybrid is much better efficiency with slightly weaker performance.
We found driving comfort to be one of the strong suits of the Pacifica. For dropping off kids at school and long-distance road trips alike, the pleasant ride quality of the Pacifica makes it an accommodating family vehicle.
We’ve spent hundreds of hours driving and evaluating this generation of minivans, including the Chrysler Pacifica.
Fuel economy
The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid has an all-electric range of up to 32 miles with a full charge. When the hybrid battery runs out, it operates as a gas-electric hybrid with an admirable combined fuel economy rating of 30 mpg.
The non-hybrid Chrysler Pacifica gets 22 combined mpg with FWD and 20 mpg with AWD. According to EPA estimates, the fuel cost of the hybrid is half that of the non-hybrid Pacifica with FWD, a savings of about $108 per month.
Chrysler estimates charging the hybrid battery takes about 12 hours with a regular household outlet. On a Level 2 charger, it only takes about two hours.
The only other hybrid in this class is the Toyota Sienna, a conventional hybrid that gets up to 36 combined mpg.
Roomy, upscale interior
The spacious interior of the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid is full of modern amenities and technology. It’s available with premium features like Nappa leather seating, a Harman Kardon premium audio system, and wireless phone charging. On the more practical side, you can also get a built-in vacuum cleaner, an in-car camera system, and a rear entertainment system to make road trips more enjoyable for your passengers.
Of note, the famous Stow ‘n Go second- and third-row seats of the non-hybrid Pacifica are unavailable in the hybrid. The third row can still fold flat into the floor, but you don’t get the perk of fold-flat second-row seats since there’s a battery in the way. However, we commend the Pacifica Hybrid for delivering the same generous legroom and cargo space as the non-hybrid.
You get 39 inches of second-row legroom; even the third row is adult-friendly with 36.5 inches of legroom. That’s more third-row legroom than the Kia Carnival, but the Honda Odyssey and Toyota Sienna boast over 38 inches of legroom in the way back. In our testing, the Easy Tilt second-row captain’s chairs made the third row easier to access, even with child car seats installed.
As for the vast cargo space, dimensions of 32.3 cubic feet behind the third row, 87.5 cubic feet behind the second row, and 140.5 cubic feet behind the third row are close to the average for a minivan. The spacious Pacifica has more cargo room behind the second row than most midsize 3-row SUVs have behind the first row.
Stylish exterior
The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid has a modern look with stylish wheels, a sleek light signature, and practical features like sliding doors. This is a minivan that the kids (and the driver) won’t be embarrassed to climb out of.
Our favorite features and tech
32-mile electric range
The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid has half the fuel costs of the non-hybrid Pacifica thanks to its plug-in hybrid powertrain getting up to 32 miles of all-electric range. Depending on your driving habits, that could mean rare trips to the gas station.
Luxurious Pinnacle trim
The Chrysler Pacifica Pinnacle is the most luxurious minivan on the market. Features like quilted Nappa leather upholstery, lumbar pillows in the second row, Berber carpet, premium audio, and what Chrysler calls the Ultra Console make this a luxury vehicle with family-friendly seating for seven.
Uconnect infotainment system
We love the user-friendly Uconnect infotainment system in the Pacifica. It comes standard with a 10.1-inch screen, Android Auto, wireless Apple
AAPL,
CarPlay, and SiriusXM.
Uconnect Theater
The Uconnect Theater is optional on the Select trim and standard on the Pinnacle model. It consists of two screens behind the front headrests with Amazon Fire TV built-in.
Safety tech
The Pacifica delivers the peace of mind families expect from a minivan with standard safety features like automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, and blind-spot monitoring.
Hands-free power doors
For even easier access, hands-free operation of the side doors and rear liftgate are standard on Pinnacle and optional on Select.
Engine and transmission
The plug-in hybrid powertrain in the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid is a V6 engine mated to a pair of electric motors and a CVT automatic transmission. It has a total output of 260 horsepower, slightly less than the non-hybrid Pacifica.
According to EPA estimates, the Pacifica Hybrid has an all-electric range of 32 miles and returns 30 combined mpg when the charge is depleted. There are no other PHEV minivans to compare to, but the range and efficiency figures of the Pacifica Hybrid are similar to the 3-row Kia Sorento Plug-in Hybrid and better than the PHEV variants of the Mazda CX-90 and Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Although the non-hybrid Pacifica has a class-leading 3,600-pound maximum tow rating, Chrysler doesn’t recommend towing with the Pacifica Hybrid.
3-year/36,000-mile warranty
The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid is backed by a 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty and a 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty. Depending on where you buy the van and what state you live in, you get either an 8-year/100,000-mile warranty or a 10-year/150,000-mile warranty on the hybrid battery.

Safety
As families expect from minivans, the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid gets stellar safety ratings. It receives a 5-Star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), and it’s been awarded the honor of Top Safety Pick+ by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). Its superb safety ratings come from favorable crash-test results and abundant standard safety features.
