It’s official: We’re living in the future. Not technically, of course — now is still now — but today’s car market is the future we dreamed of not so long ago, with a host of affordable EVs on the market — and the prices listed below don’t even include incentives, rebates, or other discounts.

Leaf, and that’s a fair question. Unfortunately, the Bolt and Bolt EUV are being put on hiatus, and while there are some great deals to be had on remaining 2023 model-year stock, they no longer qualify for our list. Prices quoted below include delivery fees but do not include tax, title, licensing, or other fees.
Here are 10 of the cheapest electric cars of 2024.
1. 2024 Nissan Leaf
Price: $29,280 (S model: $28,140 plus $1,140 destination)
Range: 149 miles
The cheapest EV on this list is the 2024 Nissan Leaf. It comes in two main flavors: The Leaf S and the Leaf SV Plus. The most affordable variant, the Leaf S, generates 147 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque and is capable of up to 149 miles of range from its 40-kWh battery pack.

2. 2024 Mini Electric Hardtop 2-Door
Price: $31,895 (SE Hardtop 2-Door: $30,900 plus $995 destination) Range: 114 miles
The 2024 Mini Cooper SE gets some upgrades for the new model year, including the option of leather upholstery in the Signature trim, which also includes navigation with real-time traffic updates. The base Cooper SE electric is available in 2-door Hardtop form, with a 181-horsepower electric motor and 114 miles of range.
3. 2024 Hyundai Kona Electric
Price: $34,010 (SE model: $32,675 plus $1,335 destination)
Range: 200 miles
For a compact EV that’s capable of somewhat longer trips, the 2024 Hyundai Kona Electric is the king of the value hill with a 200-mile range standard. The base SE trim gets a 133-horsepower motor and DC fast charging capability that lets it charge from 10% to 80% in just 43 minutes. If you want the Kona Electric’s 261-mile range, look for the SEL and Limited trim levels.

4. 2024 Fiat 500e
Price: $34,095 (Red model: $32,500 plus $1,595 destination)
Range: 149 miles (mfr estimate)
The 2024 Fiat 500e Red is all-new for the 2024 model year, bringing the familiar 500e back with a unique new look and updated features. Initial 500e Red launch models include a donation to the (RED) charity that has partnered for the launch. Details are still being finalized, but the 2024 500e is good for up to an estimated 149 miles of range and can be charged to 80% in as little as 35 minutes with DC fast charging.

5. 2023 Volkswagen ID.4
Price: $40,290 (Standard: $38,995 plus $1,295 destination)
Range: 209 miles
While we wait for the 2024 model to go on sale, there are still 2023 models in stock. The 2023 Volkswagen ID.4 is a roomy, high-tech family EV with a 62-kWh battery that’s good for 209 miles of range in base form. That includes a 201-horsepower electric motor driving the rear wheels, although the ID.4 can be upgraded to 295 horsepower and up to 275 miles of range.
6. 2024 Tesla Model 3
Price: $40,380 (Model 3: $38,990 plus $1,390 destination)
Range: 272 miles (mfr estimate)

7. 2024 Kia Niro EV
