U.S. stocks lower at close of trade; Dow Jones Industrial Average down 0.18%

Investing.com – U.S. stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in NYSE, the declined 0.18%, while the index fell 0.65%, and the index declined 1.16%.

The best performers of the session on the were 3M Company (NYSE:), which rose 1.41% or 1.31 points to trade at 93.93 at the close. Meanwhile, Cisco Systems Inc (NASDAQ:) added 1.23% or 0.60 points to end at 49.50 and Apple Inc (NASDAQ:) was up 1.02% or 1.73 points to 170.73 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:), which fell 4.66% or 2.15 points to trade at 44.00 at the close. Boeing Co (NYSE:) declined 2.23% or 4.52 points to end at 198.51 and Honeywell International Inc (NASDAQ:) was down 0.92% or 1.86 points to 200.75.

The top performers on the S&P 500 were Etsy Inc (NASDAQ:) which rose 5.72% to 72.31, Carnival Corporation (NYSE:) which was up 4.57% to settle at 16.38 and Moderna Inc (NASDAQ:) which gained 3.57% to close at 103.03.

The worst performers were Costco Wholesale Corp (NASDAQ:) which was down 7.64% to 725.56 in late trade, Broadcom Inc (NASDAQ:) which lost 6.99% to settle at 1,308.72 and NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:) which was down 5.55% to 875.28 at the close.

The top performers on the NASDAQ Composite were Safe & Green Development Corp (NASDAQ:) which rose 88.16% to 1.24, Ainos Inc (NASDAQ:) which was up 83.04% to settle at 2.05 and Mira Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ:) which gained 71.40% to close at 1.57.

The worst performers were Amylyx Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ:) which was down 82.29% to 3.36 in late trade, African Agriculture Holdings Inc (NASDAQ:) which lost 34.18% to settle at 0.36 and Real Good Food Company Inc (NASDAQ:) which was down 28.87% to 0.69 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the New York Stock Exchange by 1544 to 1289 and 89 ended unchanged; on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange, 1728 fell and 1680 advanced, while 126 ended unchanged.

Shares in Amylyx Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ:) fell to all time lows; falling 82.29% or 15.61 to 3.36. Shares in African Agriculture Holdings Inc (NASDAQ:) fell to all time lows; falling 34.18% or 0.19 to 0.36. Shares in Real Good Food Company Inc (NASDAQ:) fell to all time lows; falling 28.87% or 0.28 to 0.69.

Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.90% or 19.45 to $2,184.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.34% or 1.06 to hit $77.87 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 1.27% or 1.05 to trade at $81.91 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.09% to 1.09, while USD/JPY fell 0.64% to 147.09.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 102.73.
