TUI is scheduled to report results for the first quarter of fiscal 2024 on Tuesday. Here is what you need to know.
REVENUE FORECAST: Two analysts polled by FactSet had a revenue estimate for the German travel operator of 4.14 billion euros ($4.46 billion) compared with revenue of EUR3.8 billion the year before.
ADJUSTED EBIT LOSS FORECAST: UBS analyst Cristian Nedelcu said in a note that he expects to see a narrowed adjusted loss before interest and taxes of EUR50 million compared with a loss of EUR153 million the year before. Deutsche Bank analysts expect to see the adjusted EBIT loss–one of the company’s preferred metrics, which strips out exceptional and other one-off items–narrowed to around EUR76 million.
WHAT TO WATCH
–CAPACITY: UBS expects the company to reconfirm that its summer 2024 capacity is close to the levels seen in 2019. “We expect around 30% of the summer schedules are already sold at this point in the year, aligned with history,” Nedelcu said in a note.
–LIKE-FOR-LIKE GROWTH: Deutsche Bank analysts expect the company to post like-for-like top-line growth of around 13% thanks to a strong operating trend in airlines, and cruise lines in particular.
