Huntington Ingalls Industries was awarded a $1.17 billion modification to a contract for work on the USS Boise.
The U.S. Navy announced the modification to the previously awarded contract on Friday. The modification includes options which, if exercised, would bring its total value to $1.24 billion.
The work is specifically for completing an engineered overhaul of the USS Boise, a Los Angeles class nuclear-powered submarine.
The work is expected to be completed by September 2029 and will be performed in Newport News, Va.
