NHL legend Chris Chelios has lopped a chunk of money from his California home’s list price, dropping the ask from $75 million to a still-staggering $67.5 million.
Chelios, who hoisted up the Stanley Cup three times in his career, is hoping to shed his Malibu property and score a nice profit.
Even with the price cut, the home is still likely to net the former defenseman many millions of dollars, since he bought the place in 2003 for a mere $6 million.

Situated along nearly 100 feet of beach frontage, this spectacular Paradise Cove property is a true gem. Filled with light and generously proportioned, the roughly 3,800-square-foot house features four bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms. Plus, there’s a detached guest cottage with a living room and kitchen.
Skylights flood the home with sunshine and offer starry nighttime views in the large main space, which combines the living and dining areas. The midcentury-themed kitchen has a built-in breakfast area and commercial appliances, as well as a roomy counter for prep work.
Ocean vistas are on tap from every angle, particularly in a loft-like bedroom and in the other sleep suites downstairs. The primary bedroom has its own fireplace, sitting area, walk-in closet, and spa bathroom that leads to a private deck.
Outside, amenities abound—a hot tub, sauna, pretty plantings, and multiple decks for lounging, all tucked behind gates. But the cherry on top might be the views of the Queen’s Necklace, a row of lights that glimmer in a chain between Malibu and San Pedro.

Chelly, as he’s affectionately called by his fellow analysts when he’s commentating the NHL for EPSN, played pro hockey for nearly three decades and earned three Norris trophies.
As the ultimate tribute to his storied career, Chelios will have his No. 7 Red Wings jersey hung from the rafters in Detroit in March.
